On 17 September 2026, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) removed Andrographis paniculata (Andrographis) from the list of ingredients permitted for use in listed medicines in Australia following a review of its safety. This follows a safety review into the potential for severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.

Metagenics (Aust) Pty Ltd, following agreement with the Therapeutic Goods Administration, is performing a recall for all batches within expiry of above listed medicines containing Andrographis paniculata (Andrographis). 

The health and safety of consumers is our highest priority. Following the TGA’s determination, Metagenics ceased supply of the affected products. 

Stop using the affected product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Alternatively, contact Metagenics Customer Service on 1800 777 648, or via ANZ_ProductRecalls@metagenics.com to arrange a return and refund. 

The TGA advises that Andrographis may cause rare, serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, which is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening. If you experience symptoms of suspected anaphylaxis, call 000 immediately.
